Iliea frowned at the thought of her father maybe showing up. He would love Garoth, true, but...what if he asked to take Sorbin with him? She couldn't let him do that! Sorbin was the reason she was still alive!

<<Sorbin is safe with us. I wish to do this 'bath' thing. May we?>>

>>Of course!<< Iliea helped the blue to the water and waded in with him, picking up sand and scrubbing. >>You will be much harder to clean when you are full grown. Raine has no trouble with Raegreth though.<<

<<I am not Raegreth, and you are not Raine. You are Iliea, and you are mine, I am Garoth.>>

>>I know silly! I was just thinking!<<

~~~
O'rel grinned as Verwyth shot off into the water, splashing some of the other weyrlings, including O'rel as he made it to the edge. >>Stop that Ver! Calm down!<< He was now thoroughly soaked, after Verwyth had used her weak wings to splash waves at him.
<<This is much fun!>>
Now thouroughly soaked, Talla grinned at O'rel as he scolded his Green. "Aren't Greens the best!? So much personality and............" she was cut off and she slipped on a rock avoiding Eamosuth's tail, landing in the water. Looking at her Green, who was currently staring down at her in surprise, (Why are you down THERE she was asked) Talla could do no more than break down in giggles. Giggles which were made worse by the fact that Flash was now sitting on her shoulder looking into her eyes, as if asking what was wrong.
Wiping water from her face, and steadying Flash so she didn't lose a chunk of skin if he fell, she scrambled up out of the water. As she dragged herself to her feet, she caught site of the others watching her, and grinning, squeezed the excess water from herself AGAIN. "I suppose this is why we are told to wear old clothes!" she said to Roedi.......R'din. She smiled at Naluth. "I hope your wing feels better soon", she said then spoke to Roedin. "Is he going to be ok?"
<<So my dear rider, what do you think of your first class so far?>> Cirineth asked M'tral, mirth clear in his voice. The bronzerider just stood on the bank a smirk on his face. Watching the youngsters in the water was some of the best entertainment he'd had in ages and he didn't want it to end but eventually it must as soon the dragonets would be calling for food and then they'd be sleepy.
He was about to start the lesson when he saw that one of the weyrling pairs still stood at the edge of the lake. The bluerider was knee deep in the water, trying to encourage his dragonet to join him. M'tral had just opened his mouth to ask the boy what was going on when a white flit landed on the boys shoulder and started chittering away. Looking closer though he realized that the flit wasn't chittering at the boy but the dragon!
D'lan was having difficulties getting Aedrath to realize that the water wasn't going to swallow him plain and simple. The water was the same dark murky blue as Aedrath was and he had the silly idea that it was that color because it had taken all other hatchlings his color.
<<I'm NOT going in there,>> Aedrath told D'lan one more time and he was about to back away from the edge when suddenly a little white something landed on his soulmate's shoulder. When the little white something started chittering away at him, sending him images of her playing in the water with no harm and essentially scolding him for being silly Aedrath got indignant and marched on into the water. He snorted when he splashed some up his own nose but he wouldn't be shamed by a flitt of all things. <<I don't like her, she's mean,>> Aedrath sent to D'lan in reference to Miri.
D'lan laughed merrily at his dragonet's stubborn entrance into the water and even harder when the blue claimed he didn't like Miri. >>Well my boy, she got you in here for your bath didn't she?<< Again Aedrath snorted.
Seeing the last pair finally in the water M'tral shouted, "Okay thats enough playing around, gather close so you can see what I do with Cirineth." That said, M'tral tromped into the water and before long he had to swim out to reach his dragon. When he reached Cirineth, M'tral climbed up onto the big bronze and waited until all the weyrlings were situated.
R'din and Naluth watched the acrobatics of the green and Talla, with the brown firelizard flitting around. Roedin could not help but laugh at loud at the spectacle, and Naluth appeaared to be in two minds as to whether to be frightened or amused by them.
Then Talla, eventually stood up and spoke to them. "Yes, I think it will be ok. We're going to see the dragonhealer after we've bathed... If it was serious then we would have been sent straight away.. or even last night! I... I think - and hope - that it is just a precaution." R'din smiled "Come on then" he spoke to Naluth "we better get you clean then!"
The bronze continued his walk in, over to R'din, who was sudeenly attacked by a white shape, who spun around and scolded him. At this Naluth bugled in some confusion and distress. "Calm down Zephyr!" Roedin shouted at the white firelizard "Naluth! Naluth! It's all right! Its just Zephyr!" he reassured the dragonet, who clamed down as the firelizard stopped its fluttering and settled down. "Be nice, Zephyr" the harper cautioned, and moved round to watch the Weyrlingmaster demonstrate how to bathe dragon.
>>Naluth, Zephyr can help me bathe you. How would you like that?<<
<<I'd like that>> the bronze replied, content that he rated higher than the small thing.
>>Common Erileath, you could use a good bath.<< Rika said, ushering the sport as close as they could get without the dragonet going too far under the water.
<<Am I dirty already?>> Erileath replied, seeming to look down at herself in inspection.
>>No love, but we want your hide in top condition, do we not?<<
Shai chose that time to appear in front of the pair, skimming the water in a circle around them once before landing on Erileath's back. Rika smiled, betting that the sealizard would think it grand to help.
K'ser made his way to Rika's side, Wheth beside him. "They'll need a bath almost every day until they're older, eh?"
Rika chuckled. "I don't mind, it's fun, and they all seem to enjoy it."
K'ser nodded, it'd be more time-consuming to wash a full-grown brown in the future, but for now it wouldn't be.
<<You'll have a hard time of it, I'm going to be a big brown.>> Wheth stated, unfurling his fragile wings. K'ser and Rika laughed.
"Okay, since I've got everybody's attention I spose we'll get started," M'tral stated eagerly once all the weyrlings were ready. "Each dragon is different and therefore will have a prefered pattern to their bath. Cirineth here likes me to start on his shoulders around his wings, it was always his most itchy part as a 'net. Talk with your dragons and find out what they would like you to start off with. When you have that all figured out go ahead and get started by rubbing their hide in slow firm circles, just don't forget you have to do their entire body. This method works best when it comes to shedding the itchy hide your dragonets will be covered in until the stop growing. As they get older it will still be the most effective at removing dirt and soothing whatever aches your dragons may aquire." His small speech finished M'tral demonstrated what he had described. Cirineth trilled his pleasure at his rider's ministrations.
Aedrath, finally in the water, was rather enjoying the feeling of it lapping against his sides and although he'd meant to pay attention to the Weyrlingmaster and his dragon the little blue had missed nearly everything that was said. It wasn't until D'lan nudged him and asked, >>So what where would you like me to start?<< that Aedrath realized he'd been off in his own little world. Quite embarrassed by being caught not paying attention Aedrath just stood there in the water a moment. Finally he answered, <<Under my chin.>> He wasn't quite sure what D'lan was asking but it was where he was feeling itchy right then so he figured whatever it was D'lan was about to do to him would relieve the itchiness.
"Where do you want me to start, then Naluth?" R'din asked the bronze dragonet, after watching the demonstration by the Weyrlingmaster.
<<My shoulders please>> Naluth replied
R'din thus started at Naluths shoulders, rubbing in slow firm circles down his back, and was soon joined by Zephyr, who wanted to join in. Together they cleaned Naluth all over.
Half way through, R'din, working between D'lan and Talla, contrived to splash them both at the same time, and managed to make them think that it was the other who had splashed them. Twisted Evil
Talla listened and watched as M'tral demonstrated what to do. As they were told to start, she turned to Eamosuth, only to find that Flash was perched on the greens back, using paws and jaws to scrub at an itchy patch. She was so surprised that she nearly sat down in the water again.
Getting her balance, she waded forward. "So! You are trying to take my place!" she jokingly scolded Flash, giggling as he sat up on his haunches, a wounded chirp bursting from him. *I! Do something like THAT?!* was the expression on his face, which turned to a slightly panicked look accompanied by a screech as Eamosuth, suddenly jabbed in the back bu a set of small talons, shivered her back and knocked him into the water.
Helpless with laughter, she hit the water again, sitting there till she regained both composure and breath. Standing, she dashed tears from her eyes, and moved to Eamosuth, giggling as both the Green and the Brown turned their heads to chirp at her My neck is itchy She turned to fix Flash with a look, purring as he started forward to scrub. Talla moved forwards too, scrubbing Eamosuth's shoulder with the sand from the lake bed.
She was getting into the swing of it, proven by the fach that Eamosuth was crooning in sheer pleasure, when she was hit by a splash of water. Looking up, she saw Roedin beside her, and beyond him, D'lan, who was looking in her direction. A look of sheer devilment came over her face as she looked at D'lan, and she splashed the Bluerider back. This had been a FUN day so far!
Rika peered at Erileath. >>Where do you itch the most, dear?<<
<<Here.>> The sport repied, flexing her left wing. <<My shoulder, please.>>
Rika quickly complied, Shai jumping in to start on Erileath's other wing.
Wheth immediatly arched his back in a feline-type way. <<My whole back itches, Mine, help!>>
K'ser chuckled, scrubbing the brown's whole back as quickly as possible.
ooc: >.< short, head hurts...
